Mansfield VFW Supports MU SVA Chapter with Donation

MANSFIELD, PA— Mansfield Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 6757 has donated $1,000 to Student Veterans of America (SVA) chapter at Mansfield University. The donation will cover some of the cost for the officers of the MU chapter to attend the SVA National Conference in Anaheim, CA this January.Mansfield VFW Post 6757 Commander Valerie Mitchell presents MU SVA Chapter President Cecil Cooper with a check for $1,000 as (L-R) Christian Verrastro, Adam Richardson, secretary; Eric Grant, Jesse Olson, treasurer and Josh Battin, Post 6757 sr. vice commander and MU associate professor of Criminal Justice Administration, look on.The SVA chapter has received support from the MU Student Government Association, but needed additional funding to cover airfare, hotel and other expenses.

“The National Conference provides great leadership training and opportunities for the officers to become better leaders among their organizations as well as within the campus community as a whole,” SVA Chapter Treasurer Jesse Olson said. “Without the Mansfield VFW Post’s generous donation, we likely would not be able to attend the conference. They have been and continue to be one of our organizations biggest supporters in the area.”
