MU Fisheries Students Assist in Green Career Day

MANSFIELD, PA—Mansfield University Fisheries students Cory Sauve, Josh Grassi, and Zach Horner, along Assistant Professor Greg Moyer, participated in Green Career Day at Mt. Pisgah State Park on September 28.web-fisheries-green-career-dayThe MU group worked with area eighth grade students who wanted to be fisheries biologists for a day.  Students participated in the electrofishing of fish on MU’s boat in an effort to learn how fisheries scientists sample lakes.

Green Career Day is sponsored by Mt. Pisgah State Park. It was attended by more than 160 eighth graders from 12 area school districts across the Northern Tier of Pennsylvania. The event is designed to provide students with the opportunity to experience various potential careers associated with the outdoors.
