MU Representatives Visit China

MANSFIELD, PA—Mansfield University Provost and Senior Vice President Steven Siconolfi and Yucong Liu, assistant professor of Math and Computer Information Science, represented MU in China in June.(L-R) Assistant Professor Yucong Liu, Mona Hongning Mao, Provost Steven Siconolfi, Ted Zexuan Zhang, unidentified Chinese official.Liu traveled to three cities in China to help new Mansfield students prepare for their visa interviews. Siconolfi and Liu then traveled to Dalian, China to attend the Sino-American CHEPD 1+2+1 Program Annual Conference, which included seminars on studying abroad in China as well as 21st century innovative majors.

On June 14, the annual Sino-American CHEPD 1+2+1 Program Graduation Ceremony was held on the campus of Dalian Jiaotong University.

Siconolfi conferred MU diplomas upon two graduating Chinese students. Mona Hongning Mao received a BA in English: Literary and Cultural Analysis and Ted Zexuan Zhang earned a BS in Business Administration: Management. Zhang was also recognized as an Outstanding Graduate due to his high GPA.

Mansfield was one of 22 American universities and 83 Chinese universities attending the event. 56 American university delegates joined 246 Chinese delegates at the ceremony, and degrees were awarded to 213 students.

This year marks the 10th year MU has been a member of the CHEPD 1+2+1 dual degree program.
