“The Movement: 50 Years of Love and Struggle” to be presented February 26

MANSFIELD, PA— Mansfield University will present “The Movement: 50 Years of Love and Struggle” as part of its celebration of Black History Month on Monday, February 26, 7 p.m. in Steadman Theatre  The presentation is free and open to the public.

Written and performed by Emmy Award-winner Ron Jones, “The Movement” is a visual chronicle, which highlights many of the political, social and cultural markers of the almost 50 years since the passage of the Voting Rights Act.

During the presentation, Jones plays multiple characters and takes the audience on a journey through the ever-changing face of the African American experience.

Supported by interactive video, stock historical footage, quotes and some of the most memorable music of the last two generations, Jones weaves the tapestry of struggle and triumph.

“The Movement” is presented by the MU Office of Multicultural Affairs and is funded by student activity fees.
