Ehrie Accepts Assistant Director Position at Penn State; Decker Named Interim Director of Athletics

MANSFIELD, PA – Mansfield University Director of Athletics Ryan Ehrie has accepted a position as the Assistant Director of Commonwealth Campus Athletics at Penn State University.

Associate Director of Athletics and Senior Woman Administrator Kris Decker assumes the role of Interim Director of Athletics following Ehrie’s departure on March 16.

Decker first joined the Mansfield Athletic Department as the Assistant Director of Athletics in August of 2000 and was elevated to Associate Director of Athletics in 2007. She previously served as Interim Director of Athletics from 2013 to 2014.

Decker came to Mansfield from the University of Wisconsin-Superior where she served as the senior woman administrator and a lecturer in the Health & Physical Education Department from 1995 to 2000. She began her career at Superior as an assistant softball coach from 1993 to 1996 before being elevated to head softball coach in 1996.

Decker earned an associate’s degree from Itasca Community College in 1991 before receiving a bachelor of science in physical education from Superior in 1995. Decker also completed her masters of science in education at Superior in 1998.

Ehrie was appointed Director of Athletics in January of 2017. His tenure at Mansfield included the development and implementation of a new brand identity for the athletic department, a five-year department-wide apparel deal with Under Armour, and the creation of the Mountie All-Access streaming video platform.  The Montrose native received a bachelor of science in kinesiology from Penn State University in 2008 before earning a master’s degree in sport studies from the University of Tennessee in 2009.
