MU Social Work Students Collecting Supplies for Tioga County Homeless Initiative

MANSFIELD, PA— Social Work students at Mansfield University are collecting toiletries and other items to benefit the Tioga County Homeless Initiative.

Specific items being requesting include men and women’s deodorant, paper plates, cleaning supplies, coffee and sugar.

Collection boxes are located on the first floors of each residence hall until April 6.

The Tioga County Homeless Initiative’s mission is to provide a warm, safe, and caring environment for individuals and families experiencing homelessness. Some unique aspects of the initiative are that they provide separate bedrooms for families and always have a bed open for a veteran. The Tioga County Homeless Initiatives is a non-profit organization that relies on the support of volunteers and local ministries.

The event is organized by students as part of Associate Professor Mary Daly’s Communities and Organizations class.
