Self Defense For Women Training Offered by MU Public Safety Institute

MANSFIELD, PA – The Mansfield University Public Safety Training Institute will offer Self Defense for Women training on Wednesday, March 27th and Wednesday, April 3rd in Doane Center from 6 p.m.to 9 p.m.

The 2-session training provides the skills needed to prevent you from becoming a victim of harassment or assault. The training is primarily hands-on and is open to all females over age 16. The training is suitable for all levels of physical ability.

The training will include basic self-defense techniques, principles of avoidance, control tactics, passive release and escape techniques, defensive counter strikes, and disarming of armed attackers.

Instructor Frank Levindoski is the Sheriff of Tioga County Pennsylvania. Frank is an instructor at the Mansfield University Police Academy and he is a certified SHARP (Sexual Harassment and Rape Prevention) instructor.

The course fee of $20 covers both 3-hour sessions, totaling 6 hours of training. Registration is required. You may register via email to Roxy LeBlanc rleblanc@mansfield.edu or Mark Thompson mthompson@mansfield.edu. Payment may be made at the start of the class.
