MANSFIELD, PA – The Mansfield University Chamber Singers will present a delightful program about animals on Thursday, March 28, at 7:30 pm in Steadman Theatre. The concert entitled “De Animals A-Comin’” will feature madrigals and part-songs about birds, cats, dogs, chickens and other “beasts of the field” and will be presented in collaboration with the Second Chance Animal Sanctuary.
The 15-voice ensemble of singers, established for the study and performance of repertoire from the vocal chamber idiom, will perform as a full ensemble and in quartets. Director Peggy Dettwiler encourages audience members to come an hour early to the upper Steadman Lobby to meet some adoptable cats and kittens and learn more about the work of Second Chance for the benefit of animals in our community. This concert is free and open to the public.
