MU Social Work Students Organize Runwell Addiction Awareness Walk

Mansfield, PA  — Social work students at Mansfield University are participating in the organization of the Runwell Addiction Awareness walk on Saturday, April 27, 2019.

The goal of the event is to raise funds to directly benefit the Runwell Foundation to help those who struggle with addiction and may not be able to afford treatment. The Runwell Foundation is sponsoring the event and all proceeds will go directly to benefit Harbor Counseling.

Registration begins at 10:30 am at the South Hall Mall on Mansfield University campus. From there, attendees walk together to the Veteran Memorial Park to promote awareness and decrease the stigma of addiction. The event will feature a Runwell Ambassador, speakers, free refreshments, and door prizes.

Runwell Foundation is a national non-profit agency focused on recovery scholarships for those who cannot afford treatment. Harbor Counseling is a local professional drug treatment and mental health counseling facility. The event is organized by students as part of Associate Professor Mary Daly’s Communities and Organizations class.
