MU Concert Choir Receives National Recognition

MANSFIELD, PA – Mansfield University’s Concert Choir has been recognized as one of 20 Outstanding University and College Choir Program in an article published on Online-Bachelor-Degrees.com.

“This announcement really came to me completely out of the blue,” said choral director Dr. Peggy Dettwiler.  “Here we were: Mansfield University’s choral program listed among other top programs in the country.  I know first-hand the quality of most of the other programs on the list, especially: Brigham Young University, Cornell University, Oakwood University, Mt. San Antonio College, New York University, Pacific Lutheran University, St. Olaf College, University of Louisville, University of Southern California, and Yale University!  They have all appeared at conferences of the American Choral Directors Association and are very well-known.  Mansfield is so honored to be among them!”

The Concert Choir and Chamber Singers will close the academic year on Saturday, April 27 with a concert in Steadman Theatre including works from the 16th to the 21st century, from sacred motets to a Carly Simon Country Song.
