MANSFIELD, PA\u2014<\/strong>\u00a0The annual Mansfield University Service Recognition Celebration was held on Tuesday, April 19.<\/p>\n

Employees who have served MU for 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 and 40 years were honored. Faculty were recognized by academic year. People who have retired or will be retiring through summer 2016 were also recognized.<\/p>\n

The following individuals were honored:<\/p>\n

Ten years: <\/em>Victoria Johnson, Susan Lanzara, Bonnie Phelps, Charles Kinter, Roxy LeBlanc, Jaesung Sim<\/p>\n

Fifteen Years: <\/em>Belinda Hampsher, Adrianne McEvoy, Wendi Route, William Keeth, Sheryl Monkelien, Brad Stettler, Timothy Madigan, Michele Moore, Nanci Werner-Burke, John Mansfield, Holly Pieper<\/p>\n

Twenty Years:<\/em> Rachel Green, Timothy Seymour<\/p>\n

Twenty-five years:<\/em> \u00a0Tamela Bastion, Howard Iseri, Philippe Savoye, Dennis Dean, Kelvin Morgan, Michael Stoudt, Edith Gallagher, Lynn Pifer, John Ulrich, Bradley Holtman,\u00a0 Lou Ann Rumsey, Kathy Wright<\/p>\n

Thirty years:<\/em> Pamela Boyce, Robert Maris, David Solan<\/p>\n

Forty years: <\/em>Roger Maisner<\/p>\n

Employees who have retired or officially announced they will retire:<\/em> Woan-Jue Benjamin, Cynthia Keller, Colleen Ribble, Russell Dodson, Dennis Miller, Thomas Wilson, Tammy Felondis, Suzanne Murphy, Edward Washington, Lynne Hammann<\/p>\n

Also at the recognition event, Softball Head Coach Edith Gallagher was named \"MU<\/a>Employee of the Year.<\/p>\n

The Employee Recognition Committee selected Gallagher after a campus-wide nomination process.<\/p>\n

Among the comments made on the nominations Gallagher received were, \u201cFor the past 25 years, Edith has demonstrated her unwavering commitment to student success and to the success of the University. She has directed the softball team to seven postseason berths, won two ECAC championships and coached 48 All-PSAC athletes. In 2013, Edith led MU to its first PSAC Central division title and in 2014 led the team to the first NCAA Regional Tournament berth in program history. She recently celebrated 400 wins and was awarded the Presidential Coin for Excellence. Edith is a visible and welcome presence across campus and in the community.\u201d<\/p>\n

Marie Domenech, International Cooperation and Exchange; Christine Gitchell, Facilities; Jeffrey Jacobsen, Music; Brad Lint, English and Modern Languages; and Brian Townsend, Facilities, were also finalists for the honor.\"Members<\/a>The English and Modern Languages (EML) Department received the Spotlight Award, which is given annually to a department that exemplifies the four facets of the Mansfield Creed: Character, Scholarship, Culture and Service. The winner was decided after a campus-wide nomination process.<\/p>\n

Among the comments in the nomination were, \u201cIn the past year, EML students have published their writing, presented at regional and national conferences, and were admitted to prestigious graduate programs. The faculty have been active scholars and teachers, holding their students, majors and non-majors, to the highest standards while continuing to serve the needs of individual students. Members of this department serve in various capacities across campus and also work with the larger community, such as hosting a Poetry Out Loud contest for area high school students.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Department faculty and staff consists of Fanny Arango-Keeth, Teri Doerksen, Jimmy Guignard, Lilace Guignard, Andrea Harris, Brad Holtman, William Keeth, Brad Lint, Dan Mason, Monique Oyallon, Lynn Pifer, Lou Ann Rumsey, David Stinebeck, Louise Sullivan-Blum, Edward Washington and Abby Werlock.<\/p>\n

MU Music students Emily Rittenhouse and Kelsey Hurst provided musical accompaniment during the luncheon. \u00a0Chairman Ralph Meyer gave the welcome on behalf of the MU Council of Trustees.<\/p>\n

The Employee Service Recognition program was facilitated by the Human Resources Department.<\/p>\n
