MANSFIELD, PA\u2014 <\/strong>Four Mansfield University Fisheries students spent part of their summer assisting Great Smoky Mountain National Park biologists as they restore native Brook Trout to the Park.\u00a0\"MU<\/a>As part of their hands-on field-based courses, Fisheries students Curtis Collins (Olanta, PA), Evan Mosser (Sinking Spring, PA), Cory Sauve (Mechanicsburg, PA) and Eddie Stockert (Cabot, PA) traveled to Tennessee to assist the National Park Service in monitoring a Brook Trout reintroduction program on the Little Prong River in Great Smoky Mountain National Park.<\/p>\n

The population was sampled using backpack electrofishing gear, was found to be in good standing and will re-open to fishing soon.<\/p>\n
