MANSFIELD, PA\u2014<\/strong>The Mansfield Auxiliary Corporation (MAC) has contributed $365,000 to the Housing Incentive Fund it established at Mansfield University in 2012.\u00a0\"(L-R)<\/a>David Cummings, MAC Board president, said this new contribution raises the amount donated to the fund to benefit current students and help attract new students to MU to more than one million dollars.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur goal from the beginning was to attract students to Mansfield with the new residences<\/span> halls,\u201d Cummings said. \u201cThis fund allows us to help retain those students as well. Our hope is that some of these future graduates may remain in the area or return to continue this tradition of volunteerism and leadership.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cummings pointed out that all contributions to the Housing Incentive Fund have no administrative costs, allowing more money to go directly to the students in need.<\/p>\n

\u201cMAC members donated thousands of hours of their own time to make our new residence halls a reality and they continue to support our university through the MAC Housing Incentive Fund and in so many other ways,\u201d MU President Fran Hendricks said. \u201cI sincerely thank them for their generous contributions to our university in our efforts to move Mansfield University forward and for all the other great work they do in our community.\u201d<\/p>\n

MAC Board members are Cummings, president, Al Quimby, vice president and Brian Barden, treasurer. Hendricks and Chuck Colby, associate vice president of Residence Life, serve as ex-officio members.<\/p>\n

MAC was formed in 2009 as a Pennsylvania Nonprofit, IRS 501(c)(3) charitable corporation consisting of volunteers from the community to assist MU in the construction of replacement student housing on the MU Campus.<\/p>\n

Under the MAC Board\u2019s leadership and guidance, four state-of-the-art residence halls; Oak, Hickory Halls, Spruce and Sycamore Halls were built at MU between 2009 and 2013.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
