MANSFIELD, PA\u2014<\/strong> Three faculty and one student from the Mansfield University Department of English and World Languages participated in the English Association of Pennsylvania State Universities (EAPSU) 2016 Fall Conference on October 4-5 at Clarion University. The conference theme was \u201cChanging Climates.\u201d\"(L-R)<\/a>At the conference award ceremony, senior English major Paige Kisner was honored as Mansfield\u2019s Outstanding English Major. She also presented her paper, \u201cDominated by Discourse: Gender Identity in Winterson\u2019s Written on the Body.\u201d<\/p>\n

Professor Jimmy Guignard delivered his paper, \u201cRhetoric, Incommensurability, and Love.\u201d<\/p>\n

Professor Lynn Pifer delivered her paper, \u201cTeaching Civil Rights Literature in the Current Racial Climate; or, When David Duke Says, \u2018My time has come,\u2019 It\u2019s Time to Revisit my Civil Rights Literature Class.\u201d<\/p>\n

Assistant Professor Brad Lint delivered his paper, \u201c\u2018What Can(\u2018t) You Do with That?\u2019 Talking to English Majors about \"Jimmy<\/a>Jobs.\u201d<\/p>\n

Guignard chaired two panels: \u201cOutstanding English Majors: Critical Work\u201d and \u201cResearch in Teaching.\u201d Pifer co-chaired a \u201cPost-Strike, Moving Forward\u201d roundtable discussion.<\/p>\n

MU hosted the EAPSU Undergraduate Conference on March 31-April 1, 2016.<\/p>\n
