MANSFIELD, PA\u2014<\/strong> Mansfield University Geoscience major Carolyn DeWitt and Geoscience\/Biol\"Carolyn<\/a>ogy major Andrew Putt presented their research at the Susquehanna River Symposium, hosted by Bucknell University on November 11-12.<\/p>\n

Putt won the undergraduate award for outstanding presentation for his talk about his poster. He described the results of a vertical flow treatment system for the\u00a0 \"Andrew<\/a>remediation of acid mine discharge.in which he described his research in detecting and monitoring the environmental degradation of Triclosan (an antibiotic).<\/p>\n

DeWitt\u2019s poster presentation detailed her findings regarding the seasonal variation in benthic macroinvertebrate populations of Mill Creek and a determination in water quality based on macroinvertebrate population richness and diversity.<\/p>\n
