MANSFIELD, PA\u2014The Young Men\u2019s Choral Festival (YMCF), hosted\nby the Mansfield University student chapter of the American Choral Directors\nAssociation (ACDA), will be held on Friday, October 26th<\/sup>, 2018.\n\u00a0YMCF, now in its 19th<\/sup> year, gives young men in grades\n7, 8, & 9 the chance to sing in a massed choir with peers who also enjoy\nsinging, ina comfortable and collaborative setting.\u00a0 The festival will feature a choir of over 130 young men from sixteen area\nschool districts, and the Mansfield University Steadmen.\u00a0The festival will\nconclude with a final concert in Steadman Theatre at 4:00pm. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This\nyear\u2019s guest conductor for the YMCF Choir is Mrs. Donna Knott, Director\nof the York County Junior Honors Choir. Mrs. Knott has an extensive background\nin the development of young voices. She has been the director of the York\nCounty Junior Honors Choir for sixteen years and is in her tenth season\nartistically directing the York County Elementary Choral Festival.\u00a0 Mrs. Knott is a graduate of West Chester\nUniversity (B.S Music Education) and Penn State University (Master of Education)\nwhere she focused on the development of the male voice. Her passion for music\nand upbeat personality has guided her career through an incredible musical\njourney. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 4:00 pm finale concert will also include the Mansfield University Steadmen,\nunder the direction of Dr. Peggy Dettwiler, Director of Choral Activities at\nMansfield University.\u00a0Their program will present great choral standards\nfor men’s voices, humorous selections, and a finale for combined choirs. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
