MANSFIELD, Pa<\/strong>. \u2013 Mansfield\nUniversity welcomed a delegation from Ton Duc Thang University in Vietnam on\nMonday, Nov. 4.\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The delegation members included Dr. Vo Huang Duy, Vice\nPresident for Academic Affairs; Dr. Tran Trong Dao, Vice President for\nInternational Relations; and Dr. Pham Van Huy, Dean of the Faculty of\nInformation Technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

President and First Lady Patterson hosted the delegation at\nthe President\u2019s on-campus residence.\u00a0\nDiscussions were held during dinner regarding possible collaborative\nopportunities between the two universities.\u00a0\nIn addition to the President and First Lady, the Mansfield team included\nDr. John Ulrich, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs; Dr. Kathy\nWright, Associate Provost and Dean of the College of Natural and Social\nSciences; Dr. Josh Battin, Dean of the College of Arts and Humanities; Dr.\nJaesung Sim, Chairperson of the Department of Mathematics and Computer and\nInformation Science; and Dr. Brad Lint, English Professor and Mansfield\u2019s\nU.S.\/Asia Coordinator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ton Duc Thang University, with its main campus in Ho Chi\nMinh City, is the leading higher education institution in Vietnam, enrolling\nmore than 20,000 students in bachelor\u2019s, master\u2019s, and doctoral-level\nprograms.\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the visit, the delegates discussed the possibility of\ndeveloping a direct exchange program, a dual degree transfer program, and\/or\nshort-term study abroad options.\u00a0 Also\ndiscussed was a possible relationship between the computer science programs at\nthe two institutions.\u00a0 At the conclusion\nof the meeting, gifts were exchanged, and the Ton Duc Thang delegates toured\nOak Residence Hall to see firsthand the high-quality living accommodations Mansfield\nUniversity provides its students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
