MANSFIELD, Pa. \u2013 The Loomis Gallery at Mansfield University\nwill host an exhibition of painting and photography by Paul Bozzo \u201871 from Oct.\n25 to Nov. 18.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Loomis Gallery is located in Allen Hall on campus and is\nopen to the public Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. An artist talk\nand reception will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 27 from 4-7 p.m. in Allen Hall.\nBozzo will also present workshops for current MU students on Nov. 3 and 10 from\n1:30-3:50 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bozzo graduated from then Mansfield State College in 1971 with\na bachelor\u2019s degree in art education. While in college, Bozzo developed an\ninterest in ceramics and textures and later discovered the ability to make\ntextured paintings with joint compound and acrylic paints. The 50th<\/sup>\nanniversary of Bozzo\u2019s iconic textured paintings was celebrated in May 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After graduating from Mansfield, Bozzo began a 31-year\ncareer teaching art at Warren L. Miller Elementary School in Mansfield and also\nsupervised art students from the university. Bozzo eventually taught a drawing\nclass in the same room of the former Allen Hall where he took classes from\nprofessor Ernie Frombach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bozzo developed an interest in photography after joining the\nGrand Canyon Photo Club in Wellsboro in 2007. A renewed love of hiking allowed\nBozzo to capture images from all over Tioga County, especially creeks, pools,\ncascades, and waterfalls. He began layering images about 10 years ago and\nrecently developed a way to marry his artwork with his photographs, using\nlayers to combine the two artforms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
