The Mansfield University Concert Choir performs at the legendary Carnegie Hall<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The Mansfield University Concert Choir, under the direction of Peggy \nDettwiler, will perform concerts in the region, including the First \nBaptist Church in Lewisburg, on Sunday, April 2, at 7:30 p.m.; the Third\n Presbyterian Church in Rochester, NY, on Friday, April 14, at 7 p.m., \nand then their final concert of the academic year in Mansfield’s \nSteadman Theatre on Saturday, April 29, at 7:30 p.m. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The \nevening’s program includes works from the Renaissance period by Peter \nPhilips to a composition by Peter de Mets commissioned in 2022. The \nprogram will feature the ability of the choir to sing with different \nchoral colors and with overtone singing. Works familiar to most \naudiences include “Will the Circle Be Unbroken” and “What a Wonderful \nWorld” made famous by Louis Armstrong. The sixteen-voice Chamber Singers\n will also share a couple of selections including “The Peace of Wild \nThings” which is the theme of their concert on Tuesday, April 25, in \nSteadman Theatre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The evening of singing promises to offer \nuplifting music for these trying times. The concerts are free and open \nto the public, although donations will be accepted at the door.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
