The Four Freshmen to Perform at Mansfield University<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

MANSFIELD, PA (04\/03\/2023) The annual Vocal Jazz Festival will take \nplace at Commonwealth University-Mansfield on Thursday, April 27, and \nwill feature the world-famous vocal quartet, The Four Freshmen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\n vocal jazz festival will begin at 10 a.m. in Steadman Theatre and \nfeature high school choirs from Dover, Wyalusing, and Forrest City all \nled by MU graduates: Samantha Roberts, Damien Wickizer, and Alison \nYuravich.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, there will be rehearsals for students to \nlearn a vocal jazz selection, Gershwin’s “Embraceable You,” arranged by \nTeena Chinn. Dr. Eddie Severn, jazz instructor at Mansfield, will lead \nan improvisation workshop, and the Mansfieldians will participate in a \ncoaching session with the Four Freshmen. They will open the evening \nconcert in Straughn Auditorium at 7:30 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since their inception \nin 1948, The Four Freshmen have continued to tour internationally, \nentertaining audiences year-round and continuing their unparalleled \nmusical legacy. Among the members of the Four Freshmen is Ryan Howe, the\n group’s lead tenor, and a 2009 Mansfield University graduate of the \nmusic program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tickets for the evening concert are $15 for adults; $10 for seniors; and $5 for children 18 and under and can be purchased online mansfield.booktix.com<\/a>. All other events held during the day are free and open to the public.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
