Commonwealth University-Mansfield is among 14 teams advancing in the \nfirst round of judging of the Conference of State Bank Supervisors \n(CSBS) Community Bank Case Study Competition.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The\n teams were chosen from a pool of 34 student teams and represent 28 \ncolleges and universities. This is the ninth year of the competition, \nwhich is open to undergraduate students in all fields of study as an \nopportunity to gain valuable first-hand knowledge of the banking \nindustry.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In 2022, students from Mansfield partnered with \nCitizens & Northern Bank (C&N) of Wellsboro, and earned second \nplace in the CSBS competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Students involved in the \ncompetition are Hannah Caccia, of Williamsport; Ethan Allen, of Ulster; \nSeth Anderson, of Troy; and Sierra Shedden, of Canton, and will be \naccompanied by their advisors, Atika Benaddi, Xiaoxuan Ji, and Xia Zhou.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This\n year, teams are tasked with examining how community banks are \npositioning themselves for success and sustainability as they face a \ncompetitive job market, succession challenges and changing consumer \nneeds. Each student team will learn how its bank is recruiting and \nretaining talent, approaching success planning, and using technology to \nadvance its operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Each student member and faculty advisor of\n the first-place winning team will receive a $1,000 scholarship and \npresent their findings at the Community Bank Research Conference and \ntheir work will be published in the annual CSBS Journal of Community \nBank Case Studies. Teams that place second and third will also receive \nscholarships and have their works published in the journal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There \nwill be three rounds of judging and results from the second round will \nbe announced on June 7. The top three teams will be announced at the \nState Federal Supervisory Forum in Philadelphia on July 12.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
