MANSFIELD, PA- \u201cIntervals,\u201d an exhibit by Nicholas Economos, will \"Gallery-Economos\"<\/a>be on display at the Mansfield University Loomis Gallery beginning Monday, January 26. The exhibit will run through Thursday, February 19.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Economos, an assistant professor of Art at Mansfield, is an artist and educator from Big Flats, NY. His art practice includes work in interactive media, sound, video, animation and prints.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In addition to his art practice, he has contributed as a writer to Net Art Review<\/em>, The Squealer<\/em> and Aspect Magazine<\/em>. He was a site editor for Rhizome.org at The New Museum of Contemporary Art in New York City for six years, editing content for the web site and the Rhizome Rare email list earning the title of editor emeritus.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Economos\u2019 awards include an Individual Artist Project Grant in Film, Media and New Technology Production from the New York State Council on the Arts, The Individual Award for Excellence in New Media Art from the Ohio Council for the Arts, and the Newcomer Award at the Darklight Film and Video Festival in Dublin.<\/strong><\/p>\n

An opening reception will be held on Wednesday, January 28, 4-6 p.m. The reception and exhibit are free and open to the public.

The Loomis Gallery is located in Allen Hall, 135 Stadium Drive. It is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Saturdays 1-4 p.m. and by appointment.<\/strong><\/p>\n
