MANSFIELD, PA<\/strong>\u2014Poet Cameron Conaway will present \u201cMalaria, \"Cameron<\/a>Poems\u201d on Thursday, March 26, 4 p.m. at Allen Hall, Room 104. The presentation is free and open to the public.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The first poet-in-residence at Mahidol Oxford Tropical Medicine Research Unit in Bangkok, Conaway has served as executive editor at GoodMenProject.com. He is a former MMA fighter and an award-winning poet. Currently teaching at Penn State Brandywine, Conaway is a Pennsylvania native. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

In the book and his presentation, Conaway testifies to the importance of bridging the chasm between science and art. He \"Cameron<\/a>raises awareness of a disease that kills almost one million people each year and sickens millions more.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In naming the book one of the five best poetry books on 2014, NPR\u2019s review said, \u201cWhen a collection like Malaria, Poems<\/em> comes along, the world must take notice.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

Copies of Conaway\u2019s book will be available for sale after his presentation.<\/strong><\/p>\n
