MANSFIELD, PA\u2014<\/strong> Mansfield University students, faculty and retired FBI Special Agent Mark Thompson hosted Girl Scouts from Mansfield, PA on April 16 to participate in a mock crime scene investigation and earn their Detective Badge.\"CJA-Girls<\/a>The investigation was led by Special Agent Thompson, with assistance from faculty members Justin Crowl and Josh Battin from the Mansfield Criminal Justice Administration Department and members of Lambda Alpha Epsilon (LAE), the University\u2019s professional criminal justice fraternity.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"CJA-Girls<\/a>Special Agent Thompson spoke to the Girl Scout Troop about forensics, evidence collection and crime scene processing. The scouts then had the opportunity to collect evidence left by a \u201csuspect,\u201d dust for latent prints and identify the perpetrator of a mock crime.<\/strong><\/p>\n

After the presentation, members of LAE spoke to the group about\"CJA-Girls<\/a> criminal justice career options and their future career aspirations.<\/strong><\/p>\n
