MANSFIELD, PA\u2014 Indie film maker Brent Green will present his film\"Gravity<\/a> Gravity Was Everywhere Back Then<\/i> on Thursday, March 13, 7 p.m. in Steadman Theatre. The event is free and open to the public.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The project is lo-fi, stop-motion animations with narration and live music featuring a horn section, theremin, cello, harmonium and drums. The musicians will include members of the indie bands Fugazi, Califone and Dark Dark Dark.<\/strong><\/p>\n

It also features live foley sound effects, like in an old-time radio show, to accompany his whimsical, dream-like cinematic tale.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Gravity Was Everywhere Back Then<\/i> offers a chronicle of enduring love, faith, the need for miracles, and the power of electricity, while recounting the true story of Leonard Wood, a hardware store clerk in Kentucky who built a crazy-quilt house in the 1970s as a healing machine to save his wife from cancer.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Green, a self-taught animated filmmaker from Cressona, PA, built a full-size model of Wood\u2019s house and town in his own backyard, and he shot the film there, combining traditional and stop-motion animation techniques. The result is an ethereal homage to lovers and dreamers everywhere. \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The event is funded by student activity fees and the Mansfield University Foundation.<\/strong><\/p>\n
