MANSFIELD, PA\u2014<\/span><\/b> New Politics, an alternative rock band from \"New<\/a>Copenhagen, Denmark, will perform in concert at Decker Gymnasium \u00a0on Thursday, April 24 at 8 p.m. Doors will open at 7 p.m.<\/span><\/cite><\/span><\/cite><\/strong><\/p>\n

With a sound described as a blend of “punk, pop, and electronically induced dance rock,\u201d New Politics is touring the U.S., performing their own concerts as well as opening for Paramore and Fall Out Boy in some venues.<\/span><\/cite><\/strong><\/p>\n

The trio of David Boyd, S\u00f8ren Hansen, and Louis Vecchio have released two albums: <\/span><\/cite>New Politics<\/span><\/cite> in 2010 and <\/span><\/cite>A Bad Girl in Harlem<\/span><\/cite> in 2013. Their best known singles are <\/span><\/cite>Yeah Yeah Yeah<\/span><\/cite> and <\/span><\/cite>Harlem<\/span><\/cite>.<\/span><\/cite><\/strong><\/p>\n

The concert is presented by the Student Activities Office (SAO), in collaboration with the Mansfield Activities Council (MAC), MU Student Government Association (SGA), Health Sciences Student Government Association-Sayre Campus (HSSGA) and WNTE-FM. It is supported by student activity fees.<\/span><\/cite><\/cite><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cWe are extremely pleased to be able to present New Politics in concert as a true collaborative student effort aimed at hosting a band that is new, upcoming, bold, high energy, very talented, and by all accounts on a course to break into the big time this summer.\u201d<\/span><\/cite> Steve Plesac, director of Student Activities and Student Programming, said.\u00a0 \u201cAll the stars aligned for us to host this band, and now is the time to experience their show before they are limited to playing only larger venues and on larger tours.<\/span><\/cite><\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/cite>Tickets go on sale Monday, March 24<\/span> <\/span>at the MU Campus Bookstore in Alumni Hall. Bookstore hours are \u00a0Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturdays 11 a.m.-2 p.m. or on-line at mansfield.tix.com<\/a>\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/cite><\/strong><\/p>\n

Tickets are $5 for MU students, $10 for MU employees and alumni and $15 for the general public. <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

All tickets are general admission, with bleacher seating and standing room only on the gym floor.<\/span><\/span><\/cite><\/strong><\/p>\n
