MANSFIELD, PA\u2014The countdown to Mansfield University\u2019s LUMA (Light Up Mansfield Again) 2015 and Field Hockey Centennia<\/strong>l Celebration, as part of Family an<\/strong>d Friends Weekend on October 9-10, continues with the public release of a video to promote the celebration of Mansfie<\/strong>ld\u2019s 100th<\/sup> year of field hockey.\"FH<\/a><\/strong><\/strong>The video, entitled \u201cPride & Family,\u201d<\/a> is narrated by Brittany (Kostishion) Hansrote, a 2009 MU graduate and two-time All-American, who was named head field hockey coach in March of this year. She is the first alumna to lead the program in its 100 year history.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Produced and directed by the MU Department of Marketing videography team of Chyenne Bostwick \u201915, Adam Murtland\u201912 and Mark Polonia, the video has been viewed more than 7,500 times through MU social media platforms in its first day of release.<\/strong><\/p>\n

On Saturday, October 10 at 2 p.m. the Mountaineers take on Kutztown, coached by Marci (Lippert) Scheuing, a 2005 Mansfield graduate, in the Centennial Reunion Game at Karl Van Norman Field.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Centennial Reunion will feature a pre-game tailgate and a post-game reception for field hockey alumni and friends of the program. For more information and to pre-register, click here<\/a>.

\u201cField hockey is a vital part of our athletic history at Mansfield,\u201d MU President Fran <\/strong>\"FH<\/a><\/strong>Hendricks \u201979 said. \u201cWe look forward to welcoming many of those who created that history back to campus and celebrating their contributions.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

This year\u2019s field hockey team will also have the honor of throwing the ceremonial switch to \u201cLight Up Mansfield Again\u201d (LUMA) before the Mountaineers football game against Army West Point. Pre-game ceremonies will begin at 6:30 p.m. with kick-off set for 7 p.m.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cCoach Hansrote and her team represent the best of Mansfield academically and athletically,\u201d Hendricks said. \u201cI can\u2019t think of any group more deserving of the honor of lighting up Mansfield on October 10.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Field Hockey Centennial Celebration and LUMA are part of Family and Friends Weekend at Mansfield. The weekend will feature concerts and activities in addition to the field hockey and football games.<\/strong><\/p>\n
