MU Contingent Explores Opportunities in Cuba

MANSFIELD, PA— A contingent from Mansfield University, led by Dr. Robert Strohecker, secretary of the MU Council of Trustees, traveled to Cuba October 28- November 1 to scout out potential service-learning and academic exchange programs.(L-R) Robert Strohecker, Jeffrey Bosworth, Frank Crofchick and Adrianne McEvoy in Cuba.Frank Crofchick, Service coordinator and Community Conduct officer, Jeffrey Bosworth, associate professor of Political Science, and Adrianne Leigh McEvoy, associate professor of Philosophy, accompanied Strohecker.

They met with Cuban farmers, small business owners, pastors and university officials to begin discussions about offering community service projects and short-term study abroad possibilities in Cuba.(L-R) a Cuban youth baseball coach (no ID available) accepts a donation of used MU baseball equipment from Adrianne McEvoy, Robert Strohecker and Frank Crofchick.McEvoy and Crofchick are hopeful for the chance to lead service-learning opportunities with Mansfield Students as early as January 2016.
