MANSFIELD, PA— Peggy Dettwiler, director of Choral Activities at Mansfield University, has been invited to serve as a member of the international jury for the 2016 World Choir Games (WCG) to be held in Sochi, Russia this July.
Dettwiler is no stranger to the WGC, leading the MU Concert Choir to gold medal winning performances three times; Graz, Austria in 2008, Cincinnati, OH in 2012, and Riga, Latvia in 2014.
“It will be fascinating to be on the other side of the activities,” Dettwiler said of the honor.
The WGC is held biennially and is the largest international choral competition in the world. In 2014, the WCG attracted 460 choirs from 74 nations and 27.000 participants.
