MANSFIELD, PA—Tiffany Welch, assistant professor and director of Field Education in Social Work at Mansfield University, has been named a consulting editor for The Field Educator, an online journal produced by the Simmons School of Social Work to promote the exchange of knowledge among the social work education community.
“As a consulting editor, I will be reviewing manuscripts for not only grammar and spelling, but also for relevance to the field of social work as it pertains to field practicum,” Welch said. “The manuscripts are reviewed anonymously to reduce any bias. Being a consulting editor to Field Educator is an exciting way for me to give back not only to the social work profession, but also to my colleagues. Additionally, it allows me to assist with increasing the quality of research available to our students on field education, which is obviously very important to me as the social work program’s Director of Field Education here at Mansfield University.”
Welch is in her second year as a full-time/tenure track member of the Mansfield faculty. Prior to that she served as adjunct faculty and also as faculty liaison to interns. She was also adjunct for the Temple University Masters of Social Work (MSW) program at MU. Welch earned her bachelor’s degree at Mansfield, her master’s at Marywood University and her doctorate of social work at Capella University.
