MU Hosts Conference for PASSHE English Students

MANSFIELD, PA— English students from the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE) universities gathered at Mansfield University on Friday, April 1 for the annual English Association of Pennsylvania State Universities (EAPSU) Undergraduate Conference. This year’s theme was “Against the Current.”EAPSU 1Faculty from the MU Department of English and Modern Languages and other PASSHE universities moderated panel discussions, presentations and poetry readings throughout the day.

The conference luncheon featured poetry contest winners; Tiana Lopez, Shippensburg University, first place, Raven Jones, Edinboro University, second place and Rachel Roupp, Mansfield University, and Danielle Rishell, Indiana University of Pennsylvania, tied for third, reading their work.

Cameron Conaway, 2015 recipient of the Daniel Pearl Investigative Journalism Fellowship, delivered the keynote address, entitled “Standing Within Otherness: How to Shine When Things Fall Apart.”
