Biology Students Excel at State Meeting

MANSFIELD, PA— Six Mansfield University senior Biology students gave research presentations at the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania University Biologists (CPUB) meeting at Millersville University on April 16.(L-R) Professor Bob Maris, Andrew Putt, Carly Golden, Lauren Pardi, Alex Gallagher, Craig Rose. Alex Gallagher (Massapequa, Park, NY) and Andrew Putt (Ephrata, PA) won first place awards for their oral presentations in the Cell/Molecular Category.  Megan Gretz (Mount Joy, PA) also presented in the category. All three students were mentored by Professor Jeanne Kagle.

Lauren Pardi (White Haven, PA) and Carly Golden (Bethlehem, PA) received second place honors for their talks in the Ecology/Evolution/Organismal sessions.  Pardi was mentored by Associate Professor Leslie Clifford and Professor Bob Maris mentored Golden.

Craig Rose (Beaver Dams, NY), mentored by Associate Professor Steve Hensley, presented a poster and was named Mansfield Outstanding Biology student.

Maris serves as Mansfield’s CPUB director and CPUB Student Presentation Judging coordinator.

MU will host the CPUB meeting in 2018.
