Fourteen Psychology Majors Inducted into International Honor Society

MANSFIELD, PA—Fourteen Mansfield University Psychology majors were inducted into Psi Chi, the International Honor Society in Psychology, on April 21. (L-R) Erin Carrigan, Jessie Martin, Jennifer Freeman, Jessica Wojtkowiak, Amanda Lee, Nicole Morgan, Chelsea Tanco, Tyler Copp, Drew Mitchell, Marissa Pattison, Haylee Heckman, Katlynn McDaniels.The purpose of Psi Chi is to encourage and maintain excellence in scholarship and advance the science and profession of psychology.

“I could not be more proud of the academic excellence, hard work, and effort of our psychology students,” Gretchen Sechrist, faculty advisor to Psi Chi and Department of Psychology chair, said. “I look forward to see what this group of students accomplishes in the years to come.”

To be a member of Psi Chi, undergraduates students must be enrolled as a major or minor in psychology at the university, completed at least three semesters of coursework and at least nine semester hours of psychology courses, and have earned a cumulative GPA that is in the top 35% of their class (sophomore, junior, or senior) compared to all other MU students.

2016 Psi Chi inductees are Michaela Brant, Erin Carrigan, Christopher Child, Tyler Copp, Jennifer Freeman, Haylee Heckman, Amanda Lee, Jessie Martin, Katlynn McDaniels, Drew Mitchell, Nicole Morgan, Marissa Pattison, Chelsea Tanco and Jessica Wojtkowiak.
