MANSFIELD, PA— Mansfield University Geoscience major Carolyn DeWitt and Geoscience/Biology major Andrew Putt presented their research at the Susquehanna River Symposium, hosted by Bucknell University on November 11-12.
Putt won the undergraduate award for outstanding presentation for his talk about his poster. He described the results of a vertical flow treatment system for the remediation of acid mine discharge.in which he described his research in detecting and monitoring the environmental degradation of Triclosan (an antibiotic).
DeWitt’s poster presentation detailed her findings regarding the seasonal variation in benthic macroinvertebrate populations of Mill Creek and a determination in water quality based on macroinvertebrate population richness and diversity.
