MANSFIELD, PA-Mansfield University will present Young Frankenstein on March 2-5 at Straughn Hall.
The Mel Brooks musical is based on the 1974 movie Young Frankenstein, written by Gene Wilder and Mel Brooks.
Auditions were held at the end of the fall semester, giving students a chance to learn music and lines over winter break. Cast members include Robbie Flora (Music Education) as Frederick Frankenstein, Victoria Royal (History Education) as Inga, Jake Wilson (Music Technology) as Igor, Cassie Zinkan (Vocal Performance) as Elizabeth, Alex Taylor (Music Education and Vocal Performance) as Frau Blucher, Austin Boroch (Communications) as Inspector Kemp and Nick Duffy (Music Education) as The Monster.
The show will be directed by Professor Sheryl Monkelien (music and stage) and 1993 MU graduate Peter Davis (technical and stage), with choreography by 2011 graduate Jocelyn Mullins.
The production has colorful, fun characters, memorable songs, and is just plain fun. It is rated PG-13 due to some suggestive material.
