MU and Mansfield Chamber Working to Address Bus Situation

MANSFIELD, PA— Susquehanna Trailways has informed officials at Mansfield University and the Mansfield Chamber of Commerce that it will no longer offer bus service to the Borough after August 31.

Bus service between Mansfield and cities downstate, such as Harrisburg and the Philadelphia area, is the prime mode of transportation for many MU students and Borough residents on weekends and especially at breaks times for the university.

“This is a great concern to us,” Dean of Students Frank Crofchick said. “We want to assure our students and their parents that we are working hard, along with Dawn Hull at the Chamber, to find alternatives and to remedy this situation.”

“We are working with Frank and his staff and have reached out to the political leadership in our area to make them aware of the situation and hope to find a solution soon,” Hull, executive director of the Mansfield Chamber of Commerce, said.

Crofchick and Hull say that any further developments will be announced as soon as information is available.
