MANSFIELD, PA— Mansfield University has received a Systems Priority Grant from State Farm which will be used to upgrade classroom computers for students and to prepare instructional computer devices in the Computer Information Science (CIS) program.
State Farm representatives Peter Wenzel, a 2001 MU graduate (B.S, Information Systems), and Clete Blackwell, who graduated in 2011(B.S, Information Systems), made the presentation of $6,408 during a three-day recruitment visit to campus the week of October 2. This marks the third time MU has received such a State Farm grant.
“The CIS program greatly values this relationship and looks forward to continuing our relationship with State Farm,” Jaesung Sim, chair of the Department of Mathematics/ Computer Information Science, said.
In addition to recruiting interns, Wenzel and Blackwell spoke to several classes, conducted mock interviews with students, and met with administrators and faculty while at Mansfield.
Their visit was facilitated by the Mansfield Career Center.
