PSECU Donates to MU Food Pantry

MANSFIELD, PA— The Pennsylvania State Employees Credit Union (PSECU) has donated $1000 to sponsor the Campus Food Pantry at Mansfield University.(L-R) PSECU e-Center Manager David Sikorski, PSECU Financial Education Center interns Emily Tracy, Casey Blair, Kortney Regis, Social work Club member Eric Grant, SWK Advisor Tiffany Welch, SWK members Magdalena Callahan, Katlyn Lutchko.

The pantry, started in the fall semester, offers food and basic hygiene products to students in need. It is the outgrowth of a committee formed to study the issue of student food insecurity. The PSECU donation will be used to buy food and hygiene supplies.

The effort is organized and staffed by the Social Work (SWK) Club with assistance from the Student Government Association (SGA).

The MU Food Pantry is currently located in Alumni Hall, Room 124, but, because of the demand and the need for refrigeration, plans are underway to move to a larger space in Alumni Hall.

Anyone interested in donating their time as a volunteer or food and hygiene products to the pantry can email foodpantry@mounties.mansfield.edu
