MANSFIELD, PA—Scott A. Davis, chair of the Department of Chemistry
and Physics at Mansfield University, has been selected as a Pennsylvania Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Ambassador.
Davis, and the other ambassadors selected after a state-wide nomination process, will participate in a 10-month advocacy training program for leaders in business, education and/or STEM-related fields, sharing their experiences and content knowledge with influential Pennsylvania stakeholders and helping shape Pennsylvania policy through targeted relationships with elected officials and media.
“I appreciate the opportunity to advocate for future citizens of the Commonwealth to have as part of their educational experience the opportunity for hands-on and minds-on observation, understanding and application in STEM,” Davis said. “Although the advocacy is within the context of STEM, these skills and abilities transcend the subject matter and can pervade the entire curriculum.”
