Mansfield University Turns R.E.D. to Support the Military

MANSFIELD, PA— On Fridays, the Mansfield University campus community is urged to wear red for R.E.D. (Remember Everyone Deployed) as a sign of support and to raise awareness for U.S. troops and their families.

On Friday, April 13, members of the campus community held their annual gathering at Karl Van Norman Field to truly spell out their support, forming R.E.D. in human letters.

This year’s commemorative t-shirt distributed to participants was designed by Alexis Anthony after a campus-wide contest for students. The text on the shirt reads, “Miles Apart, Always in Our Hearts.”

The R.E.D. Friday movement was born of an idea from then MU student, now graduate, Cecil Cooper, an Army veteran, in 2014.  It is organized by the MU Student Veterans Organization (MUSVO).
