MANSFIELD, PA – Mansfield
University welcomed 450 new first year students for fall 2019, a 38% increase
over fall 2018. In addition, total enrollment has increased 2% from a year ago
to 1,663 students. This reflects the largest year-to-year increase of
first-year students in over two decades, by both total number and percentage.
“The increase in first-year students reflects the hard work our faculty and staff have accomplished over this past year,” said Mansfield University President, Dr. Charles Patterson. “Together, we are creating an environment of stability and sustainable growth as Mansfield University reinforces itself as an affordable destination campus serving the Northern Tier, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and beyond,” he added.
“We are focused on accessibility and affordability for the region and for the state, offering competitive grants and scholarships and welcoming additional prospective students to campus for visits. When students come to Mansfield University, we want them to be part of an inclusive campus community, and for them to afford to live on campus is very important to us,” Patterson added.
This semester, the University also welcomed new students
from six countries including Australia, Canada, China, France, Mali and the
United Kingdom, and from 15 different U.S. states, including Florida and
Washington.
