Mansfield University Public Safety Training Institute develops COVID-19 resource for law enforcement

MANSFIELD – The Mansfield University Public Safety Training Institute (MUPSTI) has developed a COVID-19 resources webpage for law enforcement to access during the global pandemic.

The concept for the resources page was developed by Dean, Colleges of Arts and Humanities Dr. Josh Battin and Director of Police Services & Safety Scott Henry.

“The MUPSTI COVID-19 webpage provides a resource for law enforcement to help them provide service to the community in a COVID-safe manner; protecting the health of the officers as well as the people they serve” explained Police Services & Safety Instructor Mark Thompson who developed the resource modules. “The webpage provides tips for response protocols, cleaning gear, personal protective equipment, and safe practices.”

The resources include nine modules that cover a variety of safety techniques and best practices amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The page will be updated as the parameters of the pandemic evolve.

The COVID-19 resources for law enforcement is available at mansfield.edu/mupsti.

Mansfield University’s Public Safety Training Institute is a regional training center providing initial and continuing professional education for criminal justice practitioners, first responders, public safety professionals and the public.
