Commencement Ceremonies to be Held for Commonwealth University-Mansfield

Three students in graduation regalia hold their diplomas

MANSFIELD, PA (05/02/2023) Commonwealth University-Mansfield will hold its 154th Spring Commencement ceremony on Friday, May 12, at Karl Van Norman Field on campus. The ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. for both graduate and undergraduate students. Gates will open at 8:30 a.m.

All seating for guests is on a first-come basis. All students will be seated on the field and will be directed to sit in the appropriate area.

Parking is free with six shuttle buses operating among the parking areas to transport guests to the entrance. Campus police will direct visitors to the closest available parking. Guests should plan to arrive approximately one hour prior to commencement to allow plenty of travel time to reach campus, park, and get seated. The shuttles will operate from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

A clear bag policy will be in place. The guidelines limit the size and type of bags that can be brought into the venues. These guidelines do not change the items individuals may bring, but restricts the type of bag used to carry items. Small clutches and wallets are permissible per the guidelines outlined below. Larger bags must be clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and cannot exceed 12 inches by 6 inches by 12 inches. Clear one-gallon plastic freezer bags (Ziploc bag or similar) are also permitted. Items not permitted in the venue include: large purses, strollers, coolers, briefcases, backpacks, wrapped gifts, diaper backs, computer bags, luggage of any kind, cinch sacks, fanny packs, camera bags, and umbrellas.

As in previous years, all ceremonies will be live-streamed so families, supporters, and friends may watch and celebrate virtually. Links will be available on the mansfield.edu/commencementweb page.
