MANSFIELD, PA– The Mansfield University Music Department will present the 2015 winners of the annual Student Solo Competition in concert with the MU Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Jeff Jacobsen, on Sunday, April 26, 2:30 p.m. in Steadman Theatre.
The concert is free and open to the public. Donations of clothing for “My Neighbor’s Closet” in Mansfield will be accepted.
Ludwig van Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 3 in C Minor, Op. 37 will be performed by Steven Shade (S. Williamsport, PA)
Christine Masucci (Hellertown, PA) will sing Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Durch Zärtlichkeit und Schmeicheln from Die Entführung aus dem Serail.
Horn Concerto No. 1 in E Flat Major, Op. 11 by Richard Strauss will feature Dylan Krall (Dundee, NY).
Richard Pollock (Dalton, PA) will be on alto saxophone for Alexandre Glazounov Saxophone Concerto in E Flat Major.
Sarah Polinski (Sayre, PA) will be the vocal soloist for Gioacchino Rossini Una voce poco fa (from Il Barbiere di Siviglia)
The program will also include the Orchestra performing Mark Dal Porto’s Song of Eternity.
