“Everything for Autism” Week to be Held

MANSFIELD, PA— April 20-26 is “Everything for Autism” Week atAutism Awareness Ribbon Mansfield University. The MU Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) is coordinating a series of events to raise awareness and support for autistic children and their families.

On Monday and Tuesday, April 20-21, members of the campus community are invited to have their picture taken during the day in lower Manser Hall for the Golden Hat Project.

Wednesday, April 22, there will be a panel discussion on autism activism from 4-6 p.m. in Retan Hall, Room 108.

An Autism Color Dance will be held on Thursday, April 23, 6:30-8 p.m. at St. James Episcopal Church in Mansfield.

At 6 p.m. on Friday, April 24 a prep party for the “Everything for Autism” Color run and Walkathon will be held at Partners in Progress in Mansfield.

The Walkathon will start at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 25 in Smythe Park. Registration is $20 and includes a t-shirt.

The Color Run will begin at 1 p.m. Registration is $15 and includes a t-shirt.

In between the walk and the run there will be face painting and other activities in Smythe Park.

All proceeds will go toward the CEC’s awareness programs primarily aimed at advocating for individuals with special needs.

All events, with the exception of participating in the walk and the run, are free and open to the public.
