Steven Siconolfi named Provost

MANSFIELD, PA— Steven Siconolfi has been named provost and Steven Siconolfi senior vice president for Academic Affairs at Mansfield University.

“Dr. Siconolfi comes to this role with a PhD in Exercise Physiology from Kent State University and more than 20 years of experience in higher education in both faculty and administrative roles,” MU President Fran Hendricks said in making the announcement. “His prior experience as a dean, provost and vice president of Academic Affairs will be an important element in achieving the MU 2020 strategic plan goals, and I will rely heavily on his leadership in meeting the challenges and opportunities ahead for Mansfield University.”       

Siconolfi was selected after a national search. He comes to Mansfield from Rockford College in Illinois, where he has served as vice president of Academic Affairs and Provost the past three years. Prior to that, Siconolfi spent 14 years at Ithaca College in New York in a variety of academic administration roles.

He also served as senior scientist and administrator at the NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX for nine years and spent four years as a National Institutes of Health (NIH) researcher studying community health.

Siconolfi holds a PhD from Kent State University (OH) and master’s and bachelor’s degree from Springfield College (MA).

He will begin his duties at Mansfield on June 1.
