MU Contingent Assists at Charity Event

MANSFIELD, PA—Four Mansfield University students traveled to New York City with faculty and staff from the Department of Communication on November 3 to volunteer at the Center for Hearing and Communication’s (CHC) annual Feast fundraiser gala.(L-R) Austin Dragovich, Tyanna Roberts, Samantha Young, Brittany Blair, Mark Polonia and Sue Young.Brittany Blair, Austin Dragovich, Tyanna Roberts and Samantha Young, along with Multimedia Services Specialist Mark Polonia, Professor Sue Young, Department of Communication chair, and Professor Emeritus Howard Travis traveled from MU to Manhattan, worked the event and returned in the same day.

The students had the opportunity to escort network television personalities to their tables and assess event planning in the beautiful venue at the Chelsea Piers. Young and Travis have been taking students to this event for more than 10 years.

The Feast serves as a fundraiser for the CHC, a nonprofit that provides hearing tests and hearing aid services, speech-language therapy, counseling and other services. This year’s event raised nearly $500,000.
