MU Students Honored for Collecting Books for Foster Children

MANSFIELD, PA— Four Mansfield University Social Work students were honored on by the CONCERN Foster Care Unit in Wellsboro on November 24.(L-R) Assistant Professor Mary Daly, Rick Alvarez of CONCERN), Alexis Snyder, Chelsea McCutcheon, Candice Kratzer, Shawna Cassidy.Rick Alvarez of CONCERN presented a citation to Shawna Cassidy, Candice Kratzer, Chelsea McCutcheon and Alexis Snyder and thanked them for their project last spring which produced a donation of nearly 400 reading and activities books for children in foster care.

The students completed the project as part of Assistant Professor Mary Daly’s Communities and Organizations class.

“It’s a great feeling knowing that we were helping so many children,” Snyder said. “Without a doubt, this project was definitely a huge success.”
