MANSFIELD, PA— The Mansfield University Horn Club, directed by Rebecca Dodson-Webster, participated in the 2016 International Symposium of the International Horn Society held June 13-18 at Ithaca College, NY.
MU students were able to perform in horn ensembles, in competitions and on masterclasses.
Senior Megan Warriner was selected to perform on three masterclasses, with some of the most famous soloists and teachers in the profession; Nobuaki Fukukawa of Japan, Gail Williams of Chicago, and Frank Lloyd of England.
Dodson-Webster was a featured performer with the IHS Big Band, a group of 12 international players who performed arrangements of jazz, rock and big band tunes at the final evening concert of the symposium.
The experience was funded in part by MU Student Government and the Horn Club thanks them for their assistance.
