MANSFIELD, PA— The 20th annual Octoboefest! concert will be held on Sunday, November 6, 4 p.m. in Steadman Theatre. The recital is free and open to the public.
Octoboefest! is a chamber music recital featuring the students from the Mansfield University Double Reed Studio under the direction of Susan Laib. All members of the double reed family; oboe, oboe d’amore, English horn, bassoon, and contrabassoon, in duets, trios, quartets, quintets, and all together will be featured.
For the 11th year, there will also be a guest double reed ensemble of area junior high and high school students performing. The students will be participating in a workshop, instructed by Laib and MU students, earlier in the day.
The 20th anniversary recital will also feature an Alumni Reunion Double Reed Ensemble performing both alone and with the MU Double Reed Ensemble.
The program will commence with all three ensembles performing two Renaissance dances by Tielman Susato.
